We all had a great time during this years Melrose Riverfest Celebration, despite the rain! It is true, the weather seemed to be against us this year, with a rain shower coming right after all the events that we plan on having to attract people to the park. Despite the rain, and thanks to the wonderful businesses that donated to the event, we made $4,600. We will begin to plan for the 2009 Riverfest Celebration with the first meeting September 9 at noon at El Portal. At this meeting we will be laying down initial plans for the celebration next year, as what entertainment we would like, do we do the inflatable games again this year, or look into a carnival, and what changes we can make in the event to make more money. Please plan on attending the meeting, however if you are unable to come, but have a few ideas for the event, please email or call the chamber!
