With just one month before the Melrose Riverfest celebration begin, the Melrose Riverfest Committee has been working very hard to assure that this years celebration is a success. Please do your part to assist in this city wide celebration by volunteering to work a shift in the beer garden, sell duck raffle tickets, buy presale tickets for the carnival, have a unit in the parade or tell everyone you know about it! Melrose Farm/City Crazy Days- July 17th Melrose Farm/City Crazy Days is scheduled for July 17. We will once again be having the kids pedal tractor pull in the morning (sponsored by Central MN Federal Credit Union and Ernie's Family Foods). Followed by the petting zoo and the turkey plate lunch and turtle races. We are asking businesses who have retail, to put bargains out on the street. We are asking businesses who are not retail to either have games for people to play or host an employee garage sale. Last year we had many great comments that it was good to see Melrose so busy on Crazy Days, so consider finding some bargains for your store front. 2009 Home Health and Family Expo Recap The Melrose Home Health and Family Expo was held on April 5th. We had 45 booths this year and several new businesses participated. Pictures with the Easter Bunny and the Just for Kix dance performances were well received. Estimated attendance is 450 people. Thank you for all those who participated and we look forward to next year. Proving Excellent Customer Service Seminar On May13 thirteen individuals from chamber businesses attended the Providing Excellent Customer Service Seminar provided by the St. Cloud Technical College. During the seminar participants were asked to take the disk profile to determine their communication styles. From this they interacted within their communication groups to compare and contrast their communication styles. They discussed how to recognize the different styles and how to modify your approach to communication in order to be effective with other people. The Melrose Area Chamber of Commerce is interested in bringing more seminars to our members. Please contact the chamber if you have an idea for a seminar or if you would like us to have an additional Providing Excellent Customer Service Seminar. 2009 Membership List As of May 19, 2009
